"The exhibition 'Suspension between Waters and Society: The Color of Change' will take place during the final segment of the 2024 Venice Biennale. Situated in the heart of the enchanting beauty of the Lagoon, the exhibition aims to explore the profound connection between the breathtaking waters of Venice and the ever-evolving social dynamics. Inviting spectators to embark on a visual journey through artworks reflecting the intricate interaction between the unique natural environment of the lagoon and the challenges and transformations of modern society.
At the heart of the mesmerizing beauty of the Lagoon, this exhibition seeks to delve into the marriage between the breathtaking waters of Venice and the constantly evolving social dynamics. 'Suspension between Waters and Society: The Color of Change' invites spectators to immerse themselves in a visual journey through artworks that reflect the complex interaction between the unique natural environment of the lagoon and the challenges and transformations of contemporary society.
Through a variety of artistic mediums, from paintings to collages, from photographs to installations, artists present personal interpretations of the concept of social change within the lagoon setting. The artworks explore themes such as cultural identity, ecology, tourism, immigration, economic inequalities, and urban tensions, highlighting how these factors influence and are influenced by the surrounding environment.
The color, a central element of this exhibition, takes on multiple meanings: symbolizing the cultural and historical richness of the city, but also the darker shades of social inequalities and environmental challenges. Through the artists' palette, color becomes a means to express the complex interconnections between the lagoon waters and human society, bringing forth profound reflections on our relationship with the environment and others.
'Suspension between Waters and Society: The Color of Change' aims to stimulate critical reflection on the social and environmental issues defining the contemporary context of Venice, offering a space for dialogue and inspiration to envision a more inclusive and sustainable future for the city and its community."
